In addition, 9,000 acres of State Forest surround the parks and are also available for hiking and exploring.

Pomeroy plays host to the Big Bend Blues Bash and the Annual Goldwings and Ribs Festival. The nearby Wayne National Forest offers trails, hiking and four-wheeler riding trails.
